Chapter 34 - Kathleen Sullivan - Coaching
My name is Kathleen Sullivan, I run a coaching business which is KS Coaching. I'm also a co-director of the London Coaching Associates. And the work that I do is mainly with individuals, but also with groups. And I suppose it is a coaching strategy to give people better clarity - to give them the confidence that they need to make changes, but also the commitment in order to see those changes through, and it's really in any area of life - whatever is important to them that they come to me for coaching.

(Play It)
Chapter 33 - Andrew Wilcox - Networking
I think it's important, particularly for small business', because we need help! We're operating as individuals or small partnerships, inside those, the individuals and the partnerships, but between those, that experience is often in quite a narrow area - for example my background is in engineering, it's not in sales or marketing. So the more we help each other, the better we'll get and the more able we'll be to take on bigger and better business's with bigger and better clients.

(Play It)
Chapter 32 - Doug O'Brien - Metaphor
Strictly speaking a metaphor is a simile - an analogy that is not using the word 'like', or 'as'. So for an example if I were to say 'I am a rock' that's a metaphor - I'm not really a rock. But if I were to say 'I'm like a rock' that's a simile or analogy. A metaphor is a stronger, if you will, representation of a situation or a person, that's not strictly speaking, objective, it's more subjective representation. And its useful in therapeutic situations, when I person wants a new suggestions and ideas, that are indirect to a client

Chapter 31 - Michael Beale - NLP Trainer
Yes, certainly. I'm, as you said, an NLP trainer and coach, and I specialise in training small groups of NLP people - normally from the UK but also from Europe, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. And normally fairly senior and senior business people. And for people that come on the courses, working in such small groups is actually quite a luxury - for some people it's exactly the right way to learn and to pick up NLP skills.

(Play It)
Chapter 29 - Sue Banjo - Facilitation
Professional facilitation, and the professional facilitator is very much about someone coming in, helping to build a team, showing a new dimension, looking at a new aspect of problem solving, helping a group reach consensus, coming up with creative thinking, so it really is about someone providing an intervention into an organisation or a group, and really helping that group's organisation, move forward in in steps - incremental rather than just slowly - incremental steps to improvement - but it will really lift that group and move them on as a increase in terms of where they need to get to.

(Play It)
Chapter 28-Greg Palmer - Sales Recruitment
Well I guess it's the classic 'Poacher turned gamekeeper' as in, I over twenty years sold IT systems of varying sizes and descriptions - And if you like, I'm not placing people in jobs to do just that, So I would like to think that the credibility of being in that world and doing that type of job will give me more of an insight when it comes to selecting people on a clients behalf

(Play It)
Chapter 27- Stephanie Philp - Metaphor
Well I think it's another way of getting the message across, or stimulating a person to look inwardly to find their own resources. So when I'm training I use lots of stories, I use them to introduce topics, they create curiosity and open up the mind for what I'm about to teach

(Play It)
Chapter 26- Torstan Kinzelt - Sales and Cold Calling
I started my first cold calling job in 1991 - that was back in Berlin and the stock exchange - it was very exciting. And it was for me the first telephone and selling job that I ever had. So what was good about it was that we had this big training during the time, so I really learned how to be on the telephone, how to sell on the telephone and how to persuade people to send me money. That's really a kind of boiler room experience I had!
