The Music of Dax Lion-the Raptures of Charles Watts - May 24,2013
While most upcoming artists tend to lack a strong identity and position on their music and their message Dax Lion, a Roots Reggae artist, is cut from a different cloth. Emerging with the heart of a lion he is unabashedly clear on his mission to convey world-reaching messages while embracing Rastafari in a solid, bass-driven Reggae groove. Hailing from the city of Kingston with a Bachelor of Arts in Entertainment and Cultural Enterprise Management, Dax Lion was infused with the rich musical roots of Jamaica from a young age. He began to collaborate with artists such as Biggz General and Elise Dash. Currently, Dax is performing in the United States and Jamaica and is working on an upcoming album. Early in his career, Charles Watts had an underground play Visigoths produced in Los Angeles which led to script writing contracts for several TV series, including Kojack and Here Come the Brides. He fled Hollywood, got an MFA in poetry and went to Iran to teach literature at several Universities. For five years, he edited Seizure, a magazine of poetry and fiction. He has also been a cab driver, social worker on Skid Row in Los Angeles, refugee worker in camps in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Costa Rica, and owner of a tour company. (Play It) A Course of Action and A Million Fireflies - May 10,2013
A Course of Action is a powerful foursome that brings years of musicianship and a genuine love of music for the sake of music. They are known for incredibly tight live shows, commercial edgy, radio-friendly, hard-rock music that promises to break the cycle of new rock styles and refocuses listeners on solid rock music. Lead guitarist, Jonathan Byrd, played on the national scene in a Mercury Records act known as Copperhead in the early 1990's and with the addition of singer John Culberson, drummer JT Silvestri and bass guitarist Wes Johnson they found the perfect combination of talent as A Course of Action. When asked, "What is your gimmick?" They answered, "There is no gimmick. We are just four normal guys from the South making great rock music." The band is currently supporting their debut full-length album titled "Dark Before The Dawn". Mali Phonpadith is an author, poet, speaker, singer/songwriter and the CEO of Mali Creative.
