A few microphones and beers make Slightly Sauced a show about everything and nothing. We don’t pretend to be experts on the issues, but we’ll certainly give them a shot. Our regular panel brings a quirky Canadian focus to debate and discussion.
Hey, at least it’s not another terrible tech podcast.

With a few people out on vacation and Jon busy doing a live gig this week, we didn’t have a chance to put together a new show. Instead, we’re re-releasing an old favourite. We’ll be back with brand new content next week. Enjoy!
Original Show Notes: On this week’s SlightlySauced, we welcome local artist Juneyt into our studio for an intimate concert and an explanation of all things Flamenco. This man can play guitar like a spanish Robert Johnson, and he plays it for us! This might just be our best episode yet, so be sure to tune in!
On this week’s SlightlySauced, we talk about Jon’s propensity for swearing. Simply put, he swears too much, and people think that he’s an idiot because of it. We discuss an article written by a woman who has the same problem, amplified by the fact that she also has three small children that are starting to learn from her bad language. We’ve also got an email from Ernie, and talk briefly about the litany of scandals facing the federal Conservative Party of Canada.
This week’s SlightlySauced is a short one. We sat down with the intention of recording a show, but had to dick with our recording rig for an hour before it decided to do what we asked of it. When we finally got underway, we decided to just go through some listener email and call it a night. If this is your first time listening, just don`t. Trust us.
On this week’s SlightlySauced, we discuss the state of traditional journalism. After recent allegations that Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was filmed mingling with some disreputable gentlemen, some news outlets are accusing the Toronto Star of shoddy journalism, saying that it was irresponsible to break the story without proof. Meanwhile, we wonder if other news outlets are any better than the Star. Has the time of the traditional news room passed? Is social media to blame? 24 hour news cycles? Are business needs being put before the journalists’ responsibility to their readers? Find out on this week’s SlightlySauced.
On this week’s SlightlySauced, our skeleton crew talks about a recent episode of Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares that went viral shortly after its release. Amy’s Baking Company is a small restaurant somewhere in Arizona whose owners made the mistake of showing their true colours on national television. These folks are all kinds of crazy, and we were stunned to watch them experience a near total meltdown in the space of 40 minutes.
On this week’s SlightlySauced, we hear all about Tyler’s recent trip to San Fransisco and Dana’s recent trip to Los Angeles. That’s right, we are some well-travelled motherf**kers. We also get listener email from somebody who isn’t Ernie, Liam, or Dharmesh. It’s very exciting.
On this week’s SlightlySauced, we discuss the Mars One Project, a privately funded effort to send a crew of colonists to Mars. The catch? It’s a one-way trip. Sure, there are great opportunities for science and exploration and symbolism, but in order to grasp them, crew members have to give up everything and everyone that they’ve ever known and trust their lives to each other and the project. Would you sign up? Would we? Listen in to find out.
Everything went really wrong this week and we just couldn’t get a show together. As consolation, we’re re-releasing Episode 80: Bullet Control. It’s a great discussion about whether or not we should enact stronger gun control legislation, and features a friend of ours who happens to be a gun collector. We’ll be back next week with brand new content. Enjoy!
Original Show Notes: On this week’s SlightlySauced, we talk about guns. Big guns, small guns, machine guns, and handguns. Our discussion covers gun collectors; sport and trophy hunting; whether or not guns and ammunition should be regulated, and if so, how. All that, some listener email and a voicemail message. It’s a great show!
This week’s SlightlySauced covers a wide range of fascinating topics! No seriously, we started reading listener email and got so deep into tangential conversation that we never actually got started with the article that we had intended to share. Nevertheless, we covered a lot of funny and interesting ground, so grab a beer and give us a listen.
